FLAVORS.

my motivation; strong and always growing like my hair. sometimes, it’s tangled in moments of despair

i think big, like my eyes. always looking towards the future, never the regrets of the past.

my self doubt is present, but doesn’t consume me, like the blemishes on my face.

the beauty mark next to my eye; hidden away like the corners of my heart. most don’t see it but it’s always there.

my hopes high, like my cheekbones

my perspective broad, like my lips.

the stretch marks on my hips, showing my blooming inner and outer self.

the chipped blue nail polish on my fingertips, a constant reminder of my anxious state of mind. starting off bright and glossy, but slowly wearing down with time.

mind, body, and soul, all is one.

individually, they’re just pieces of flesh but together, they make up me, Manisha Rohoo.

Self love has infinite meanings that I’m still revolving and wrapping myself in. It means falling down at your worst and lifting yourself up, self love isn’t alway feeling positive about yourself but it’s an endlessly learning experience and constantly recreating yourself, which i believe we are all still doing right? Some how i believe we are all made the same just look different, do things differently. But at the end we are all searching for the same things. We just all have different journeys to get there. Im still putting my million piece puzzle together, at the end I’ll find my inner peace, just as much as everyone is carrying pieces in their puzzles, just differently

My name is LaurieAnn and learning to love yourself & embrace who you are is priceless, yet many times difficult; well at least it was for me. We are our own biggest critics. Acceptance of your identity and uniqueness is powerful. I am 17 years old, I am a women, I am a Latina, I am an artist,  I am independent, I am a dreamer and a lover. I am proud of my roots, because they make me who I am. I am precious because I was created so. I show love because it’s what I would like to receive. I am unapologetically me.

I’ve come a long way from being uncomfortable in my own skin, feeling like I stand out or don’t fit in, to appreciating and loving every part of myself. I’ve learned that the parts of me that are different are the qualities that I should appreciate the most. I now am comfortable embracing these qualities and expressing them through my aesthetic, it is beautiful and fulfilling to work with, and be around others that express their individuality the same way.

I really enjoy writing. That has always been my way of artistically expressing my self as an individual. Though my years of expressing it I also found a love for wanting to learn to create film. I like the aspect of seeing others perspectives on how they look at the world because everyone’s is so unique. Learning and experiencing new things is something that can help broaden and expand on my imagination and creativity. I would encourage others to do the same in broadening their horizons in whatever they feel passionate about doing.

im emily, a 19 year old new york native. i grew up with many backgrounds and influences, my ethnicity being italian/puertorican, growing up on the brooklyn queens borderline, a true pisces, identifying as bisexual and recently going vegan. Art has been a constant form of identifying myself with any job or experience ive had. Some of the ways i express myself with it is through being a traveling makeup artist, studying/using fashion as an outlet, always having a strong passion for music, and writing. ive always been shy and quiet in every environment, but this year im really focusing on being the best version of myself and mainly self love, which for me means going for what you want in life, staying in tune w yourself, and spreading positivity.

i feel like the early years of my life, when i lacked confidence, were a byproduct of me having a weak sense of self. it wasn’t until my senior year of high school that i started recognizing and embracing both who i am, and what i’m passionate about. since this era of introspection, i’ve been able to actualize my interests through my music, fashion, and overall aesthetic. i’m currently a sophomore at st. john’s university; and despite the confidence i’ve grown in my sense of self thus far, i’m optimistic that there’s still more for me to discover.

Self love is something i still have to work on honestly, but no one knows that. No one else may see YOUR flaws the way that YOU do, and no one really gets it but you. But your insecurities should never get the best of you, whatever you’re insecure about personally .. don’t let others see that ! They may not even notice it the way you do. Own who you are. You gotta love yourself first before you can love anyone else. Don’t think lower of yourself because it will reflect on the outside. Be the boss bitch that you are 💋

TO BE ALL TOGETHER...

i shot this on February 11th, 2019. i recruited models from all around nyc to allow them the opportunity to work as a feature in the magazine. my purpose came from a place of having self love and empowering yourselves as individuals. your differences, your identity, how you move, the way you talk, and what you love to do are all things that contribute to a person and make them unique. we should always have pride in who we are & never hesitate to make another person feel special as well. - Tiff

FLAVORS

(WRITTEN BY SAINT.LENA)

Unity between a group of artistic psyches, collaborating in a consistent sense understanding one another. The Flavors shoot is nothing more than just us branching out to the world, documenting what is going on within another individual lives outside of our usual team. Having other personals represent their artistry. Otto wants to plant a seed for our participants, a start for them to get themselves out there. Cropping a cultivating revolution of renaissance, the rebirth of a new generation of folk.

EMILY (@gurlinfentyslides)

Emily, the way she presents herself,  displays her warm beauty in the atmosphere. Her artistic passion, the thought of representation through her art. She shows how so sure of herself she is. Confident in her persona, puts her trust in her experiences, this girl is not meant for you average office nine to five. The walls would not have sustain what her colorful mind can fulfill. She is one of the futures visionaries, the way she can interacts with whoever wants to be in the presence of how she polishes herself, enhances the features that are already there with the makeup she applies professionally. Her genre of clothing, the way she dresses herself suits the ausetic she gives off. It was a real honor to collaborate with someone so cultivated  to join us and share her mind with all the characters that popped out for Flavors.

Manisha Rohoo (@02.bean)

This west indian princess, the pride in her culture, the way this girl pageants the spicy in her skin is truly inspiring. As her title as an experienced work of art in front of a camera she is an individual that was a joy to collaborate with. She has been a real Otto supporter, spreading the love and beauty to the world. Her booming personality is vibrant, Manisha’s frame up is exactly as you see it all spunk, spicy & lush.

Isabel Izzy (@balilooo)

i walk to izzy, being the DJ of the shoot for a sec. Something made me want to ask her “why are you here?” not intending to have a hostile approach but i just wanted to know what made her want to get up on a sunday to go submit & subject themselves to Otto this way; & she said “because i thought i was cute”.  Her responds will go down in history of one of my simplest thought of assurance, that turned into a shoot of appreciation for herself. Izzy gave me this vibe that she is someone who lives in the moment and doesn’t give a second thought of what she wants to do, she does it before the thought even slips her mind. She takes her anticipation to make something of herself, to show what she can offer to the world of beauty and goes for it. We can learn from Izzy that if you look cute ,take the pictures now not later.
