i'm a nineteen year old artistic asshole from queens. a lot of people usually question why i refer to myself that way, but it’s because not only am i an artist in many forms, but i'm genuine to who i am. this day in society it’s confusing to the small minded to do things for yourself and be all about you. you're simply not allowed to be free and do your own shit.
i can start cutting people off, or treat others the way they treat me, and they'll think i'm being a "dick". i can leave an area of negativity, and i'll be seen as a "joy kill" because i don't want to be apart of stupid antics. i can have my self confidence up to the sky and feel amazing about myself, and i'll still be seen as "conceited". i can completely do something absolutely beneficial for my self happiness, but it will still be seen as me being "selfish". which is why i call myself an "asshole" because i'm just being real. i've always been true to myself, and as a rebel, i simply could care less about what others say or what they want me to do. i've always been about breaking the rules, and going against what other people want from me. i'm all about myself with no apology. “
i've been a photographer for almost 3 years now, and i enjoy creating the most twisted and beautiful pieces with the concepts i create with my mind. i'm the voice to topics that people feel uncomfortable speaking about & i'm the emphasis to what life is really about. i also paint, sing, and write, and i can't wait for y'all to know and see more about me. the eight shoots i have shot, edited, and published for the first issue all surround topics that are closest to me. welcome to my mind & my creation. xo
¿OTTO?
otto is a lifestyle, a journey, a person. it’s a lifestyle because it’s what i been dedicating my time to, and what i look forward to working on everyday. it’s a journey because for so long i wanted to be an inspiration, a role model, even a friend to any individual, and to see that i have a place like that in the hearts of many pushes me to go even harder. there’s supporters that have been there since day one, while there’s supporters that have just heard my name and
it’s insane how badly they want me to succeed vice versa. otto is a person; my grandfather on my mother’s side. it was only months ago that my family decided to tell me that he was a photographer for decades. after finding this out, i decided to have a talk with him that changed everything. my grandfather told me that he has stacks and stacks of albums full of his pictures, that he would put my older sister and other family members to model for him, and that he would capture every moment that he can. his motive was to appreciate everything that God and the universe has to offer. abuelito otto is one of my biggest inspirations because regardless of the hard life he had to live, he’s been able to make it this far. the moment i even sparked the idea of making a magazine, i knew it had to be named after him; he deserved it.
¿PORQUE?
why? i created otto mag because i always feel limited to what i can post on my social media; i want to be able to show every aspect of each shoot i have, regardless if its ninety photos or more. therefore it would be a bigger outlet to express myself and show more of my talents. i also created otto mag because i wanted an open space for other youth to be free and showcase their talents as well. i wanted to form a team, a family, to support and motivate each other so we can be our greatest. finally, creatives are often underappreciated in this society, i felt it was time to start a movement since our time is now; to blow up and change the world.
